Course Description

Explore the leading aspects of American history from the Civil War to the present. Attention is given to political institutions, diplomatic initiatives and constitutional questions, as well as broader economic, social, cultural, religious, and intellectual trends. This course also focuses on what is unique in the American historical experience and relates American history to the global context.
