Course Description
This course introduces the foundations of macroeconomic theory using economic tools. We study the aggregate behavior of consumers and firms and gain a deep understanding of the factors that influence the determination of important macroeconomic variables such as output, employment, wages, and the interest rate. Topics include economic growth, general equilibrium, intertemporal decisions of consumers and firms, unemployment, fiscal policy, and welfare economics. The course emphasizes analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Prerequisites
- Must earn C- or better in ECON 103
- one of the following: ECON 251
- ECON 255
- ECON 300 or ECON 301
