Course Description

This class introduces students to the people and organizations making social change in the United States, including activists, social movements, and nonprofit organizations. Students will learn about identifying and defining a social cause in which they believe and would like to influence, the people and organizations involved, the ways to advocate for change, and the career paths open to social activists in the nonprofit sector.
