Course Description

Prerequisite(s): BCOM 280 may be taken as prerequisite or corequisite; ACCT 201 for Finance concentration students and ACCT 201 or ACCT 204 for everyone else. Corequisite(s): INFO 300 - Integrated Core: Operations Management, MGMT 300 - Integrated Core: Management, MKTG 300 - Integrated Core: Marketing. This course is an introduction to the concepts of finance and its interrelationship with operations, marketing and management. Students will review the content of financial statements, and the implications of the widely used financial ratios. The content of the course is centered on the time value of money relationship and its application to security valuation and capital budgeting decisions. The students will also be introduced to financial planning, working capital management, capital structure policy, the capital acquisition process, and payout policy. Special fee.
