Course Description

Introduction, through reading, discussion, taped assignments in the Music Department listening center, live music in the classroom, and outside live listening assignments, to all significant manifestations of American music, their roots, and their place in American life. Includes folk, religious, popular, jazz, and fine-art music. Prerequisite: Junior standing; a WPJ Portfolio score OR ENGL 109M or ENGL 109W
