Course Description
Introduction to statistical methods applied to analysis of engineering systems. Topics include data collection, distribution characteristics, probability, uses of regression analysis, and decision-making under uncertainty. Introduction to economic analysis applied to engineering designs. Topics include marginal or incremental economic analysis using multiple standard methods while addressing organizational constraints and market factors. Investigations into the roles engineers play in society in working toward sustainability, and ethical decision making in a technological world. Prerequisite: MATH 31. MATH 31 may be taken concurrently.
