Course Description
Advanced use of Mastercam as it relates to machinability and fixtures and tool setups. Covers 3D wireframe, surface geometry creation and solid creation, surface finish and roughing toolpaths, advanced surface high speed toolpaths, STL Stock creation and its use in solid model verification. Machine simulation is used to verify G-Code for collisions between the part, the tool and machine components. Total of 36 hours lecture and 72 hours laboratory. Grade Mode: L, A CRN 12221: Before the class begins, a Welcome Letter with detailed course information will be sent to students using the e-mail account provided to the college. Students MUST log in to the course at http://canvas.pasadena.edu to complete an introductory assignment by 11:59 pm Wednesday, January 07, or they will be dropped from the class. Students must have access to an Intel® or AMD 64-bit processor, 2.4 GHz or faster. This is a free version of Mastercam that can be used to learn the software for up to one year after activation. The download provides access to the CAM functionality for Mastercam applications, including mill and lathe.
