Course Description
The course examines and evaluates the historical development, philosophy of law and constitutional provisions; definitions, classification of crime, and their application to the system of administration of justice. The course also evaluates the process of conducting legal research, the study of case law, methodology related to the development of criminal law, and concepts of law as a social force in a multicultural, multiethnic society. . , POLID010. POLI-013.-01Z-: This is an online class with SOME scheduled meetings as noted in the class listing. Recordings of the class meetings will be available. The rest of the class can be completed independently each week on the student's own time. Students must have access to a computer, the internet and an individual email address. Most De Anza classes will use the Canvas course management system. We recommend a laptop or desktop computer to successfully complete the course; a tablet or phone may not be adequate for all assignments and tests.
